Fabric Church

Fabric Church was the result of the Church of England’s strategy to plant a large city-centre resource church in central Manchester. Fabric is located a 10 minute walk from Manchester Picadilly Station in the historic Ardwick Barracks Drill Hall. Awa oversaw the initial development of the site to provide a large multi-use event space with ancillary accommodation. The project provided a mix of technical and statutory complexities, with Awa advising on Building Regulations, Planning and Listed Building Consent during the Pre-Construction phase, as well as designing around the complexities of different construction ages and technologies.
